The Gringgo Project develops trash-tech for parts of the world where waste management is still inadequate or unavailable. Initially started as CashForTrash in late 2014, soon after we launched a prototype mobile app to make recycling easier, rewarding and fun.
Below is a short video and info about the mobile app.
CashForTrash app is a mobile application for people in parts of the world where waste infrastructure
is seriously deficient, resulting in burning rubbish, illegal dumps, river & ocean pollution.
The CashForTrash app currently provides clear information on all the things you can recycle in Bali, Indonesia. The app provides up to date info on how much those items are worth & then connects you to recycling traders who can buy your ‘trash’. The objective is to create practical ways anyone can adopt that helps clean up their environment & rewards them.
CashForTrash (the project was renamed Gringgo in Sept 2015) is a community project that leverages technology to help solve the ubiquitous waste problem in countries with limited waste infrastructure often dominated by informal collectors & recyclers.
